Yeast Rolls – Thanksgiving Flop

Yeast Rolls

I don’t typically cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal. This year it was Pepper ‘Steak’, Macaroni and Cheese, Yellow Cupcake with Hot Chocolate Icing. Some reason this year I really wanted my Grandmother’s Yeast Roll. She used to make the best rolls,  flavorful, moist and buttery. mmm, I can still taste them. And the smell, OMG they smelled heavenly.  I guess I took for granted that I would always live near her. I have never been a bread maker, even in culinary school. However, I was determined to have those fresh out of the oven rolls.  Why oh why did I not pay attention to Grannie’s lessons. These were some of the driest, hardest and quite tasty rolls ever. I’m pretty sure I know what my many mistakes were. I suppose one day, I’ll try again.

But don’t you just hate when it something you really want? Those store bought rolls just didn’t hit the spot. I might be trying this again sooner than later
